- Word Processing

The certification tests allow candidates to carry out activities within the live application itself, whether that’s Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access, and the system then automatically judges whether they have achieved the required outcome. This immediately overcomes the limitations of questions based upon simulations or multiple-choice, and allows candidates to show their true knowledge and skills.
Mock/Diagnostic Assessments (optional)
Candidates have the choice to sit mock assessments in the following areas:
- Word Processing
- Improving Productivity
Each mock assessment contains approximately 60 questions (will vary depending on the type of exam) and has no time limit. These online tests have a detailed “Results Page” that provides extensive feedback to the candidates on all incorrectly answered questions, including a suggested solution for each, which significantly enhances the learning effect of these tests.
This course includes:
- Training from a certified ECDL trainer
- Computer / Laptop to use for the duration of the course
- Detailed course notes

Newport is both a city and a principal area in Wales, on the River Usk close to its confluence with the Severn Estuary, 12 miles (19 km) northeast of Cardiff. With a population of 145,700, Newport is the third-largest city in Wales. Newport became a unitary authority in 1996 and forms part of the Cardiff-Newport metropolitan area with a population of 1,09 million.
Newport has been a port since medieval times when the first Newport Castle was built by the Normans. The town outgrew the earlier Roman town of Caerleon, immediately upstream, and gained its first charter in 1314. It grew significantly in the 19th century when its port became the focus of coal exports from the eastern South Wales Valleys. Newport was the largest coal exporting port in Wales up to the rise of Cardiff in the mid-1800s.
In the 20th century, the docks declined in importance, but Newport remained an important manufacturing and engineering centre. It was granted city status in 2002. Newport hosted the Ryder Cup in 2010 and was the venue for the 2014 NATO summit.
