Course Overview
This accredited Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Foundation and Practitioner course has been designed and developed to allow delegates to understand and apply MSP® not just to pass the exams. We specialise in working together with organisations and individuals to understand how MSP® works and how to effectively integrate it in to the existing structures and processes of the parent organisation.
The MSP® Foundation and Practitioner course is based upon the latest “Managing Successful Programmes 5th edition” which describes “best practice” guidance for handling all types of transformational change programmes.
This accredited course is designed to teach the basic principles of good programme management in line with the Principles, Themes and Processes described in the MSP® approach and to prepare delegates for the Foundation and Practitioner examinations.
Delegates are required to undertake preliminary study using pre-course learning resources which will be provided to them. Further self-study is also expected during the evenings of each course day.
Please note: the following MSP examination process will apply to every course:
- All MSP examinations are arranged and administered online direct by Peoplecert.
- Delegates will be provided with a Peoplecert examination voucher for each examination. The voucher for the Foundation examination includes access to the Official 5th Edition Managing Successful Programmes Manual e-book.
- On receipt of the voucher code the delegate should create or login to their candidate profile on the Peoplecert website to “redeem” the voucher and get access to the Managing Successful Programmes Manual e-book.

Please note if you are attending a classroom based MSP course, due to the exam process now being held online, delegates are NOT expected to travel to the venue on Day 5 in order to minimise travel times. - Closed-book exam (i.e. no reference materials are allowed during the exam)

- Multiple-choice style: 70 questions
- Pass mark: (42/70) 60% or more
- Open-book exam (i.e. you are allowed to have your own annotated copy of the Managing Successful Programmes 5th edition manual during the exam)
- Peoplecert emails your official results and e-certificate approximately 2 business days after completing the exam

Are your MSP course accredited?
Yes, all of our Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) training courses are accredited by Peoplcert (the only exam board for MSP qualifications).
How does the Exam Pass Guarantee work?
With our Exam Pass Guarantee, if you do not pass the exam after attending this training course with us, you will be eligible to attend the same training again for free. Please note learners will have to pay for the examination fee which is set by the examination board. Students retaking the course are required to use any materials or books distributed to them in their original course session. Failure to provide these materials will result in the student being charged for replacement materials.
Is MSP course suitable for me?
Our MSP courses are designed to teach the basic principles of good programme management in line with the Principles, Themes and Processes described in the MSP® approach and to prepare delegates for the Foundation and Practitioner examinations,
Are there any prerequisites for MSP?
MSP Foundation has no prerequisites. However, to take the MSP Practitioner course and exam, you must have passed MSP Foundation. We would also recommend learners have successfully completed a Project Management qualification, such as PRINCE2, before attending MSP.
What is the pre-course reading?
The pre-course resources is an MSP workbook which learners are requested to work through prior to the course start date.
How do I take the exams?
All MSP exams are taken online with Peoplcert (the MSP awarding body). Learners will be provided with exam vouchers to book their exams on a date/time they choose. Peoplecert run exams 24 hours a day, 7 day a week.
What is the structure of the exams?
The Foundation exam is multiple choice (e.g. pick one answer from four, missing word or list style questions) and the Practitioner exam is a multiple choice scenario format, a style of complex multiple-choice examination (e.g. classic multiple choice and matching style questions).
Can I use any materials during the exams?
The Foundation exam is closed book - no materials are allowed. The Practitioner exam is open book and the official MSP course manual can be used. Learners can make notes inside the book but no other material is allowed.
