How NILC is preparing for the safe return of classroom training courses
We understand that many of you are eager to return to classroom training and as lockdown restriction are slowly easing, we’re preparing to welcome you back by reintroducing a limited selection of classroom based courses on a phased approach from July and August.
Our classroom courses will still provide the same high-quality training experience that we pride ourselves upon. There will, however, be necessary safety protocols in place and new procedures for all attendees to follow in order to create and maintain a safe learning environment. We’ll also be still offering our all courses as Virtual-Live sessions, should you prefer to attend remotely instead.
Here’s a quick overview of how we’re preparing for a safe reopening:
Before We Open
A full risk assessment of each centre or venue will be conducted prior to any training commencing – this includes NILC centres and any third party venues which we use.
The maximum capacity of classroom based courses will be reduced (by up to 60%) to ensure trainers and learners can maintain a safe 2m social distance at all times.
Training centres will be deep cleaned and all equipment required for the course (e.g. computers) will be sanitised before and after every use.
Implementation of a new one-way system around the buildings and training venues (where possible) and additional safety equipment installed in centres (e.g. perspex screens on reception).
Covid-19 safety and awareness signage throughout the venue and the installation of sanitiser stations.
On Training Days
Desks, chairs and equipment will be sanitised prior to your arrival and inspected by a centre manager (NILC sites) or a trainer (third party sites). High contact areas such as reception, toilets and stairways will be disinfected at regular intervals throughout the day.
Course start times will be staggered throughout the morning to avoid a congregation of delegates. Break times and course finish times will also be staggered throughout the day.
Shared facilities, such as tea and coffee stations, may have a reduced menu (depending on centre layout) in order to minimise cross contamination.
To maximise airflow and the circulation of fresh air, windows and doors around the centres will be left open for the duration of the training days. Air conditioning units will also be set to maximum flow.
Delegates are also encouraged to bring and wear a face mask or face covering throughout the duration of the course, although at this stage it is not mandatory.
