Personal Learning Account (PLA) TATA Steel UK

What is PLA TATA Funding?

A Personal Learning Account will allow you to study part-time around your existing responsibilities. It will enable you to gain the skills and qualifications you need to change careers or advance in your current area of expertise. Your study will take place either online, face-to-face, or a combination of both.

Personal Learning Accounts provide flexible courses and qualifications, which are fully funded by the Welsh Government.

You’ll be able to get new skills and qualifications that local employers need to help you progress your current career or change it altogether.

Who is eligible?

Support under the Personal Learning Account (PLA) scheme is available for individuals who:

• Live in Wales
• Be aged 19 years old or over

In addition, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Be employed by TATA Steel UK (at one of their Wales sites)
• An employee of the wider Welsh supply chain of TATA Steel UK*

*Supply chain refers to the network of individuals and companies that have partnership arrangements with Tata Steel UK (Wales sites). Example supply chain areas include:

• Producers – responsible for manufacturing or producing the raw materials or components that go into TATA Steel products
• Vendors – supply the necessary materials to TATA Steel
• Warehouses – storage facilities that hold inventory for TATA Steel
• Transportation Companies – manage the movement of products between different points of TATA Steel’s supply chain
• Distribution Centres – oversee the distribution of goods to various TATA Steel locations
• Retailers – sell the finished product
